Selling for Photographers
Most photographers find getting their prices right and selling their photography, the hardest things to do. Bernie and Shireen will take you step-by-step through how to structure you price list for sales, and then how to maximise those sales when it comes to sale time.
Growing up in England and having a father who (conveniently) managed an International Airline – gave Shireen her first taste of extensive travelling from the tender age of two years old and brought about her fascination of people, lifestyles, different cultures and their traditions.
The love of travelling saw her set off around the world at the age of 17, with her first stop being Australia, she loved it so much – she never left. (That and the fact that she ran out of money!) Here, she built her life, found the man of her dreams – married and had six beautiful children by the age of 30.
Whilst she has been a successful business woman for most of her young life – it was at the still, tender age of 29 that she decided it was time to focus on her career choice for life.
Shireen studied at the International College of Professional Photography earning her Diploma of Photography and now, years later is a Quadruple Master of Photography, who’s humble beginnings started in the commercial sector. She then grew in her craft to capturing stunning weddings and bespoke family portraits, as this was the area that most fulfilled her love of people, lifestyles, cultures and traditions
This is her chosen field and absolute passion in life – it is not a job, and therein lies the difference in her exquisite imagery, that can’t be mistaken. Shireen’s love of people and life, her engaging (and often witty) sense of humour (ok, ok she put that in) – has given her a knack of putting her clients so at ease, that it genuinely allows her to capture beautifully relaxed, natural and spontaneous moments (many of her colleagues are seething with jealousy) and her couples love her sooooo much that many of them have become life long friends. (That’s the truth!).
Born in a small Shropshire town, Bernie Griffiths has over 40 years experience as a studio owner, presenter, business consultant, and photography business coach.
He was just fifteen years old when he began his photography career working for a local newspaper.
Leaving school with no qualifications, his burning desire to be a photographer, determined his future.
He then spent a two years as chief photographer with P & O Lines traveling the world. He then opened a wedding/portrait studio, and has photographed thousands of weddings, and thousands of portraits.
He thought that by having a studio shop front, the customers would queue outside the door each morning and hand him their hard earned money. It wasn’t to be. He realized very quickly that he had to become a marketer and business person. He knows the frustrations and day to day challenges that photographers go through. Bernie discovered that there were short cuts that can lead you to accelerated success.
After many requests from photographic colleagues, who wanted to know more about how he had achieved so much success, he started the ASWPP website.
Bernie conducts many seminars, workshops and tutorials and also presents guest speakers from around the world covering all aspects of running a successful wedding and/or portrait studio, together with an invaluable one on one consultancy program.
Bernie’s book “Success Secrets of a Professional Photographer is fast becoming the “GO TO” book for professionals everywhere.
